We scored some free tickets, so I took the kids to see Evan Almighty today! I was a bit dubious, as to whether it would slander God, but M was nagging to see it. So off we went to the mid afternoon session... 2 minutes in, H was fast asleep! M laughed (very loudly!) all the way through! I was impressed and came away feeling all warm and fuzzy inside! It is definitely a feel good movie, with some laughs. Steve Carrell is fantastic, as always, and I love Morgan Freeman in anything he does as well! Mr Freeman does a spectacular job being God!!! Its not a religious movie, although it is obviously based on a biblical story. It certainly didn't make fun of Christianity, if anything it made me feel that, God IS real, and God CAN do anything.
Excellent movie! Well worth a look! Its been a long time (probably Dr Doolittle?) since we can take our kids to a wholesome film, without violence, smut or foul language. Don't get me wrong, I loved Tranformers, full of violence!!! But this was nice for a change!

Hey thanks for the recommendation! Sounds like a good flick -- I am ALL about the feel-good movies. And I'm a huge Morgan Freeman addict as well -- that dude simply can't make a bad film. :-)

I adore Morgan Freeman too. Somehow I can see him pulling off the role of God with panache.
I loved it!!! That will be one for my DVD library for certain.
I thought that this movie was funny... Mike and I saw it months ago (remember we get the movies before you)... you gotta LOVE Morgan Freeman...
