TWO

I actually woke up this morning with my stomach in my throat... OMG! Two days?!! To answer Liene's question, it'll take about 10 hours to fly to China.
My parents experienced a miracle yesterday. About 6 years ago, my parents sold everything they owned, invested their money, and bought a caravan and big four-wheel-drive (SUV), and joined a volunteer organisation (a Mission) that builds/and does handywork for non-profit organisations. All their labour is free. About a year ago, the National Director, asked my Mum to be his PA. Which is still a voluntary position, and it also meant, that rather than travelling the country, they would be based in rural Victoria, on a 100 acre farm, where their head office was. There's a big auditorium, offices, sheds full of donated hardware and about 20 small housing units, on the property (for when other volunteers are in the area, they can stay there).
Why am I telling you all this? Because yesterday, a bush fire devasted the area. My parents stayed at the property to make sure everyone else got out ok, and when they were about to leave, the fire trucks came. So they stayed to show them where the water was etc. The fire travelled 18kms in less than 10 minutes. My parents didn't get out.
When they could see the fire coming, they shut themselves in a coolroom (a big fridge), and waited. When the fire went through, all power was lost, and they sat in the dark, and waited. Mum said it sounded like a tornado. When they came out.... it was gone. Everything was black, on fire and gone. The only thing left standing was the unit block they were in, one tractor, their car and 2 caravans... one of them, was theirs.
My Mum is due to fly in this morning, to stay with our children, while we're in China. She's still coming. Dad is going to stay to put out the spot fires, and try and clean up. But he will likely drive the car & van over next week.
Here is the News Story. 14 people died. 6 people in Kinglake, the next town on, from where my parents are.

Try and tell me, there is no God, and there are no miracles.... My parents are alive, and not one single possession was burnt.

I've been so busy trying to keep u with Lauren, I haven't had a chance to keep up with my bloggy friends! I wanted to pop in real quick to wish you a safe trip to China. I will be thinking of you as you start your amazing journey. Fasten those seatbelts because you are in for the ride of your life!

I hope you get to post regularly from China so we can follow your journey. I'll be checking in every day!

Oh, and by the way...you asked if we have Pumpkin Patch here in the U.S. now. They just opened up over the past year here in Arizona and I love the place. I usually get sucked in by the sale signs and then end up buying something else I shouldn't be buying!

Can't wait to see Tari Mei in your arms...oh, I get goosebumps thinking about it since it was only four weeks ago for us!

Of course... being an Aussie (as you know) I know full well that when you get the stinking hot heat you have been having back home - that would only mean one thing... bad bush fires... I tell ya... they are braver then me to stay in the big fridge... I would literally be shaking like a leaf... still glad that all is ok... only 2 days to go... this is so excellent... take care..

A miracle indeed. Your parents sound like amazing people. Of course, their daughter certainly is, so no surprise there! I am so glad they are safe.

Hi there - I can't believe your Mum and Dad were in the middle of that. My family lost their home in a bushfire before I was born and I always dread news of this sort cos I know the cost to the people involved. I'm so thankful that their work here isn't finished and they get to see their new granddaughter! God sure loves you guys a lot!
I'm so excited for you and I hope/pray it goes as smoothly as it can. Can't wait to see you 'on the other side'....love you lots

I wanted to write and ask you where you were in proximity to these fires.... Yes, I firmly believe in miracles and your parents are living proof! What an amazing testimony to God's power! Some will say "well then what about the 100+ who have perished"... sadly, we don't know why some did not make it. Truly sad. What an awesome story that your parents got to walk out of that cooler and share their story!! Oh my goodness... so glad they are fine. You just gave me shivers down my spine!

Now... Are ya just busting at the seams? Smile hard to fall off your face yet? Can't wait to see that baby girl of yours FINALLY in your arms!! Keeping you in prayer!!! Have fun and safe travels!

Hugs,
Lisa :)
